frase “podría estar mejor” desvalorizando tanto a
"Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good"
Many of us
define ourselves as "self -demanding" by highlighting it as
a virtue without realizing that this road is full of suffering and
self-reproach. Much is far doing things the best possible than making them
perfect. The self -demanding never is pleased with what he does, and much less
enjoy the way to be achieved. He usually presents himself as slaughtered and
exhausted by the pointillism and detail with which he performs his task.
Being self - demanding not only damage ourselves but places obstacles in
relationships with others. A self -demanding is never satisfied with the
result of his tasks or with others results. He repeats the phrase
" it could be better" devaluating him and the others. The frustration dominates
his inner dialog and hurts his self-esteem.
Going from
to the requirement to excellence represents a major challenge for the personal
welfare. From our emotions and thoughts we can work to understand the
difference between the "do and be".
When this distinction is not clear we believe the person self- demanding believes in the formula
"I am what I do" and as a result, all he does is to consolidate
a valued image waiting for the recognition of the others. Each error becomes an
attack on its identity and is interpreted as a failure. Reminding
ourselves our true being, respecting our priorities or our emotions is the
start on the path of excellence.
From
the action I recommend designing a plan always respecting your being and tailor
it to the extent of your time and needs. For that reason it is important to take
into account the following aspects
· Seek to improve
· Discover in the mistakes an
opportunity
· Be open to learn
· Replace the control by the
commitment and the reactivity by proactivity
· Innovate without fear
· Rejoice and enjoy without reproach
· Open to feedback
· Encourage positive work

Don’t
transform the perfect the enemy of the good. Have a compassionate gaze of
yourself knowing that these give the best of you in each occasion. At the end observing
your emotions and to recognize yourself as a valuable is another form
of loving yourself more.
